NUC stands for Next Unit Computing. We can place computers in various cases. You undoubtedly know about tower cases, phone cases, laptop cases and tablet cases. But many people don't know about NUC cases. These are 4 to 5 inch squares which are 1 to 2 inches high.

 

These can be full power computers managing multiple screens and USB devices. They are just as powerful as a laptop despite the small size. Some can handle a 2nd drive and two 4k monitors. Depending on your needs, you can get them for anywhere from $210 for a minimal machine capable of running Windows 10, but I wouldn't want to. However, it should be fine for Internet and web browsing with Linux Mint instead of Windows. A powerhouse NUC is available for a bit over $1,000. A reasonable business machine is available from Amazon for $730.
