I made a short painless 2 1/2 minute video to demonstrate three techniques you can use to spot email scams. This will catch nearly all of them.
Check from address.
If it was sent to you from a subject, not a person, then it is a scam. So, emails from: Male Enhancement, NaturalDogFood, Big Beautiful Women or Las vegas vacation are scams.
Check domain of the sender. If the email claims to be from Netflix, but is from someone at membership.com then it is a scam.
Hover over a link and check the domain, usually in the lower left corner. If the email says it is from Netflix, but points you to: watchservice.net then it is a scam.
Look at the header and see where the Return-Path and Envelop-From are going.
