There are two legitimate places to check to determine whether they know that one of your email addresses was exposed during a major security breach. These sites have downloaded lists of lost account email addresses from major security breaches, like Forbes, Adobe, eharmony and others. They check through many of those lists for your email address. It makes sense to check with both of them. Both sites offer to an email alert if your address appears on a new breach they track. Both sites offer other useful information as well. Two good resources.

The idea being that you should change your password for these sites and possibly for your email as well if it isn't very strong.
