Factcheck.org

I used to think this was a content free election, but have decided that it is filled with content. It just that the content is deceptive. Both Obama and McCain seem to be working hard to deceive us and make us fear the other one. In a concerted attempt to eliminate any honest discussion and keep the nation as divided as possible, they lie about each others' positions. There isn't much I can suggest to do about this, other than not get fooled by the lies permeating this campaign, and avoid the hatred these candidates and parties seem determined to nurture. My suggested site is http:⁄⁄www.factcheck.org which is part of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.

I watch their "Just the Facts" weekly video, which is about 5 minutes, and counters the most egregious lies from both parties. Their quick response Factcheck wire responds rapidly while their articles appearing once every few days go into more  depth. The site has lots of great information, if you enjoy having your political pre-conceptions pierced.
