News You Can't Use

Dutch Teen Arrested for Virtual Theft!

A Dutch teenager was arrested for stealing furniture worth about 4,000 Euros from the Habbo Hotel. However this is a precedent setting case. You see, both the hotel and the furniture are virtual. Habbo is a virtual world visited by about 6 million people from 30 countries every month. The teenager and some of his friends allegedly stole people's usernames and passwords by luring them into false sites, then sneaked into their rooms and stole their furniture! The furniture was then used in the teenager's Habbo rooms.

Habbo is a virtual world where you can rent rooms and decorate them and play games using Habbo credits. The credits are purchased with real money.

So the teens stole usernames and passwords, broke into virtual homes and stole furniture which the owners had purchased for 4,000 Euros worth of this world money. This means that those kids had furniture in their virtual homes in their computer world worth more than my furniture in my home!
