Caffeine

I now use a tiny program called Caffeine. It keeps my computers awake while I watch videos. The irritation it resolves is watching a video from my desktop, or using my Netbook and my TV set, and having the screen saver come on after 10 minutes. It also continues charging devices that charge via USB, but stop charging when the computer enters sleep mode.

Caffeine is very small and unobtrusive. Just stick the program in your startup folder. The following options might be useful depending on how you use it.

Three Command-line options:

caffeine.exe -startoff     Application starts inactive caffeine.exe -exitafter:xxx     Application will terminate after xxx minutes caffeine.exe -activefor:xxx     Application will become inactive after                     xxx minutes

I have it available on my desktop, but seldom use it. With my netbook, which I'm much more likely to need it, I have it start off, using "caffeine.exe -startoff". This puts it in the system tray, and I can right click to enable it.
