Two interesting Articles

Tulip Cremation Service wrote an excellent article explaining how to close many online accounts after a death. Incogni did a good article contrasting nine AI chatbots for privacy and data retention.

Removing your online accounts after your death

Tulip Cremation has a good article on what to do with and how to close many online accounts with links and processes. It could be very useful. However, I strongly recommend giving a couple of trusted people with good security themselves the password to your password program. That will let them log into your accounts and cancel them without all the extra rigmarole.

I also recommend taking care of your remains as much as possible to minimize the hassle for whoever will have to clean up after you die. I've already paid for Tulip, and they'll take care of my body when the time comes.

Which AI Chatbots protect your data?

Incogni did some research on nine different AI engines and their privacy policies, data retention, and training.

The best three in order were Le Chat from Mistral AI, followed closely by ChatGPT.com and Grok.com. I like Le Chat and Grok a lot.

The four worst were Meta AI (Facebook), Gemini (Google), Copilot (Microsoft), and DeepSeek (Chinese government and other third-party services).

Some other excellent options not mentioned by them are:

  • Duck.AI from DuckDuckGo. Super private and quite good.
  • Poe.com is a portal to hundreds of engines. Since the queries are being made through the portal, you are partially protected.
  • Venice.ai/chat like Duck.ai. This is sharply free speech, non-filtered and non-tracking.

The Articles

From Pivot.uz, June 30, 2025

A recent study has revealed surprising differences between popular AI chatbots when it comes to protecting user privacy. The research, conducted by Incogni, a personal data removal service, compared leading generative AI platforms—including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Pi AI, DeepSeek, and Le Chat—to see which ones are most and least invasive when handling personal data.
