Two articles. The coming of Grokipedia, a less biased Wikipedia and an analysis of various social media platforms and how well or poorly they respect your privacy.

Social media privacy rankings

Incogni blog post about social media privacy rankings for 2025. How invasive are the various platforms on an objective measure? The quickest summary is that Discord, Pinterest, and Quora seem to be the most privacy-respecting. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and TikTok were the worst.

The entire report is worth at least a scan.

Grokipedia - A less biased alternative to Wikipedia

Grokipedia will use xAI's Grok artificial intelligence model to analyze existing sources, including Wikipedia articles, documents, and PDFs, to verify information accuracy. The system evaluates content as "true," "partially true," "false," or missing key context before rewriting entries to reflect what xAI considers the complete truth.

Larry Sanger, Wikipedia's cofounder who long ago departed the organization, has long criticized its bias. Far-left moderators have blacklisted many centrist and right-wing commentators and publications. They intentionally promoted false narratives, leading it to be called "Wokipedia” by some.

I stopped contributing to it long ago and hold high hopes for Grokipedia. Hopefully by November 2025 you'll be able to try out the first iteration.
